Cassielelolea is an emerging artist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A Mass Communication graduate major in Advertising, her love for arts fostered over the years throughout her career in different roles. Cassie has finally decided to make art-making her full time endeavour in 2020 after working in the corporates for over a decade.

Cassie sought solace by looking beyond the mundane, she’s also greatly driven by her curiosity in peeking through the complexity of interpersonal relationships and human psychology. Gestures, chatters, and experiences are source of inspirations for her paintings, mostly in the simplest form of monochromatic colour or a limited palette. She often mirrors her human experiences with what reflected from nature in her works.

Working primarily with watercolours and ink, her expression involves an interplay between abstract marks, fluid watermarks with recognisable forms. Her work is both personal and universally resonant, inviting viewers to explore the thoughts and emotions underlie her work.

Cassie has exhibited her works in a solo show, and numerous group shows across art spaces in Malaysia, including Hin Bus Depot, Ming Fine Arts, Galeri Puteh and Temu House. She has received the Visual Art Program grant from Cendana Malaysia. She was also selected for the 2021 George Town Festival artist residency program in Penang.

Cassie founded Le Art Shop in 2020, an online art supply store that caters mainly to urban sketchers and traveling artists. She also hosts life drawing sessions regularly at different locations, hoping to encourage more people to experience drawing from observation.
